Getting Nuts In Penang

Currently listening to : Leavin' by Jesse McCartney.

I just realised, almost half a year had just gone like that. Time flies real fast especially during this superb long break this year. I got a news from my friends that form 6 gonna start soon and it is next monday! Right now, i'm still not mentally prepare for it and still in a relaxing mood. Guess i'd relaxed enough. Well, technically, how can form 6 starts while the ns trainees are not back and school mid term break gonna start soon. =.= Well, i can only know the true story once i got the letter of offering from the school this week. Man, i'm getting worry whether can i cope with the studies. Sighs...

Okay, that's discrimination. =.=

Alright, here are some written stories about the trip in penang. Well, i can say that the public transport fares aren't cheap at all. Instead of rapid kl, they have rapid penang here and the buses looks better than the ones in kl. The taxi fares starts from rm15 while the public buses, you have to pay every time you step into the bus. Even kl public transport fares won't costs these much. All about slaughtering tourists. Lol...

The 'stop' buttons looks the same as the ones in kl. What do you think?

On the first day, we visited the penang war museum. Seriously, this place gave me a creepy feeling as we got to know the darkest moment happened here during the japanese occupancy when many soldiers got kill in a cruel way. This museum is a preserved old military fortress build by the british in year 1930. It had been left for a long time and till this place is established in the year 2002. There were many quarters, pitch-black tunnels and not to forget, the 'hantu'. Okay, it's not a 'hantu' or ghost, but figure or mannequin of a lady with hair covering all over her face and a body covered in white cloth hanging in a room. Swt... I never expect to see these things here. Making this place looks haunted. =.= At least we got to experience what it feels like to walk through the dark tunnels. And yea, we'd been told that we had pass by many grave in the area.

Hope it is still working.

Playing some card games while relaxing in the guest house.

Love the natural lightings from the window.

Then to gurney drive in the evening that costs us rm15 for the taxi fares from komtar. At last, we got to see the 'beach' in gurney drive. Yea, not bad with the muddy looking. Had our second dinner there as well after our first dinner in cintra street.

Guess the government has to do something to clean up the mess.

The 'little boy'. Okay, that was a compliment. Haha...

On the second day, woke up 2 hours later than the time planned to wake up. We visited the penang hill and the kek lok si temple. At least the train ticket to the top of the hill costs only rm4 for both ways. The view from the top of the hill was spectacular and got to see the whole georgetown and the penang bridge right here. With the fresh air and the coolness at the top, it feels more like a sanctuary to me. Then we headed to the temple. We boarded a taxi there that is only about 2km away from the penang hill. And there goes another rm15 vanish in front of us just like that into the taxi driver's pocket. Man, they are too materialistic. Sadly, by the time we reach there, the temple had closed cause the visiting hours had over. And renovation is in progress on the pagoda and the kuan yin statue. If i'm not mistaken, they are trying to be a huge roof for the huge kuan yin statue.

On the way up to penang hill by train.

Out of nowhere, a head appeared. Haha... Funny!

Private property on top of the hill.

The canopy walk on the penang hill.

Looks like he's calling from the jungle.

The pagoda under renovation.

The shops that we passed by while going up to the temple. CLOSED!

Day three and the final day in penang. Woke up much earlier compare to yesterday. This time, we don't tour around georgetown on foot but on wheels that was invented by the folks during the stone age. And yea...wheels means by trishaw. Haha... After several negotiation about the price, we agreed with the price of rm30 for an hour ride around the city. First stop, a temple that had been recently build. Then to the Kuan Yin temple ( Goddess of Mercy ), Fort Cornwallis and not to forget, the khoo kong si temple that ain't cheap to me for the admission fees. After the ride, the price for the ride increased to rm60 due to long ride that lasted more than 2 hours. This ride is really a great experience and it'll be my last ride on a trishaw. Went back to the hotel to check ourselves out. Then leave our bag packs in the luggage room as we continue our tour to the reclining buddha and batu ferringhi.

Come ride with me.

The lighthouse in the fort cornwallis.

The roof of the khoo kongsi mansion.

After lunch, we headed to the burmese temple and the reclining buddha. We lit candles there for praying and good purpose. When the hour hand strikes 3 'o' clock, we took a bus to batu ferringhi. Went through the windy road of ferringhi road like a giant roller coaster. And at last, we arrived the sandy beach of ferringhi beach. That is the time which i appreciate the most. Appreciate every single moment on the warm sandy beach. I don't get to see the beach all the time. And yea, that is why being on the beach feels like heaven. Even how tian got much more excited than me on the beach. I understand man. Haha... Headed back to the hotel to pick our luggage and it's already 7.30pm that time. We walked to the jetty since it was still early. Then we took the ferry once again across the sea to butterworth railway station. At 9.30pm, there was an announcement by the railway station manager stating that our train scheduled to arrive here at 9.45pm will be delayed till 10.25pm. Well, the train arrived right in time but again, the train only leave about 11.30pm after several adjustments needed to be done on the coaches. Finally, journey home to kl began.

The trail left by a bike.

Reaching the horizon.

Will i get to see the beach again? I really miss the moment there. =(

Overall, this trip was my first trip with friends and all on our own. It's happened just like yesterday and now, we're back home. I hope one day we get to travel like this again. Have a great day ahead everyone!

Photo of the day!
